Howdy!

My name is Cristina Sanchez-Quintanar and I am a former student -athlete of Texas A&M University. I recently graduated with a degree in International Commerce and decided to come back to my home country of Spain to follow my dream of becoming a Professional Tennis player.  When I decided to pursue my education and compete for my university in the United States, it was necessary to put my professional tennis aspirations on hold.

After four and a half successful years playing three varsity sports at Texas A&M University, my official journey of being a professional tennis player is starting again. The beginning is not going to be easy and the expense that I will accumulate over time is one of my biggest concerns. Entry fees, accommodations and flights to different tournaments are costs that are going to be hard to deal with during the first year of this project.

I have decided to share this website with my friends, family, and people who understand how hard and long this journey is going to be and want to be there with me every step of the way.  Any support and contribution would be greatly appreciated and also would be used as an extra motivation to keep going. I can’t wait to begin this new phase in my life with you and am looking forward to what this year is going to bring!

In addition I would love to share my experience as a student-athlete and the impact that college sports had on me and I would like to share some of the accomplishment during my college years.

STUDENT-ATHLETE EXPERIENCE

Being a student-athlete probably is one of the best things that happened to me. Coming to this country (USA) to be able to study in college at the same time that I play sports at a high level is the best decision I made in my entire life. Thanks to this, I strongly believe that nowadays I am a better athlete, student, and definitely a better person. Being a student-athlete is not easy. Every day school and team responsibilities, time management between practices, classes and competition plus teammates and friends to worry about… It is just stress and tiredness almost all the time…non-stop. However at the end it is all worth. Why? Just because this allowed me to be the person I am today: physically and mentally stronger, confident, positive, altruistic, kind, and definitely a better friend, sister and daughter. I am proud of the human being I am shaping into and this is all because the student-athlete experience.
