Help London Fight Leukemia!

Donation protected
It is with a heavy heart that we feel it is time to share some heartbreaking news.

“Cancer” might well be the most terrifying word in any language, especially when it’s the diagnosis given to a child.

London’s family’s world was forever changed with the words “cancer” and “leukemia” on April 1st, the day after Easter. After a terrifying night of tests she was diagnosed with B- Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Doctors are confident in her treatment plan and a positive prognosis, as well over 90% of children with her diagnosis go on to live full and healthy lives. However, the road to recovery will not be easy. As of right now London has a two year long treatment plan. She is so brave and her treatment starts NOW! London will receive intensive chemotherapy for the next 24 weeks and FIGHT with all her might. Once she has completed the initial intense chemotherapy, she will continue to travel to the children’s hospital for the next 18 months for maintenance chemo. This plan may change as further test results roll in.

The financial burden brought on by London’s diagnosis goes far beyond her obvious medical bills. In order to help London fight this battle, both her mother and father will need to miss work frequently while London receives treatment. Insurance and Family Medical Leave will only go so far. Both parents will certainly face the loss of wages as they care for London. London also has four siblings ranging from ages 14 years to 18 months, and so childcare costs may also be a concern as London’s grandfather, one of the primary childcare providers in the family, also deals with lung cancer. Meals for the entire family of seven will also be costly, even with hospital cafeteria options. London will need to make hundreds of trips to the children’s hospital over the course of her treatment to receive chemotherapy and a cocktail of other medications. Her family lives over an hour away from her treatment center and each trip will continue to compile into a heavy financial burden.

London is a spunky, intelligent girl who loves nothing more than to play basketball and spend time with her siblings. She needs your help to get to and from treatment and to have her family home to care for her. Her family needs your help to provide the best care that they possibly can for London without the insecurities of unsteady finances.

We are asking with great humility and gratitude that you find it in your heart to help. $25 will fund one round trip for treatment. $50 will cover a copay. $75 will feed the entire family of seven during a hospital stay. $100 will put a dent in the family’s monthly rent. $200 will cover a week of groceries. Every dollar counts towards relieving London and her family of financial stress. Let’s do what we can to help this family in need so they can focus on the most important thing...getting London healthy.

THANK YOU in advance for your help and prayers. Your compassion and generosity are what make our family proud to be a part of this community.
