Ted Greene’s Cancer Fund

On January 10th, after a visit to the ER, we found out Ted has Stage 4 Colon Cancer that has metastasized to his liver, lungs and bone.  The doctors have given him about 2 years.  He has started chemo but the chemo will only buy us time, it won't cure him.  The treatment is making him weak and he will eventually need to stop working. We are looking into early retirement in July and social security disability.  However, in order to do this, it means 6 months of no income before the first check is received. That will leave us with only my income and I will need to take time off for doctor appointments and to care for him at home.  My income cannot pay all the rent, utilities, car notes, food, etc.  We are also looking into flying to the Cancer Treatment Center of America in Illinois for a second opinion, so we will need some additional funds to make that happen. The doctors there specialize in stage 4 cancer and we are hoping they may offer other treatment options.  There are also a few things on his bucket list he would like to do with his children and grandchildren before he gets too weak. 

Through all of this he has been so strong and positive.  He is a caring, loving husband, the father of 5 wonderful children, and a grandfather.  He's a retired Air Force vet who served our country proudly for 20 years working first as a firefighter for 7 years then moving on to be an Electronics Intelligence Officer working in radar analysis with top secret security clearance.  Charismatic, intelligent, funny, a friend to everyone he meets; he knows no strangers!  He is the love of my life!  My best friend!  My confidant!  My rock!  Now it's time for me to be his rock!
