Funeral Expense/ Memorial

Austin Daniel Jowers was born on May 3, 1993 in Charleston, SC. Austin entered into eternal rest on September 17, 2014. He was the son of John David and Kelly Jowers. He was born with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and Autism. Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) is a genetic disorder characterized by progressive muscle degeneration and weakness. Muscle weakness begins as early as age three. By the early teens the heart and respiratory muscles are effected. When John David and Kelly learned that their son had DMD they were devastated. Immediately their hopes and dreams for Austin playing sports, graduating high school and having a family were lost. Austin became confined to a wheelchair at the age of 10. He lost bowel and bladder function, lost his ability to draw(which he loved), as well as even lost ability to hold his own spoon. John David and Kelly have gladly devoted the last twenty one years of their life to their son. Kelly has been a stay at home mom in order to give Austin some quality of life. They have raised and nurtured two other wonderful sons despite having a handicap child. John David and Kelly gave Austin back to God many years ago. Austin's body is whole now and he suffers no more. John David and Kelly take comfort in this verse. " He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death, or mourning, or crying, or pain, for the old order of things has passed away". (Revelation 21:4) Please, pray for his parents as they start their remaining journey through life without their son.
