Elsa dingo needs urgent surgery
Donation protected
Elsa is a beautiful alpine dingo, one of our resident dingoes here at Desert Dingo Rescue.
Elsa has been our matriarch dingo and surrogate mother dingo to the orphan pups that lose their parents to 1080 baiting. This puppy season Elsa was unable to perform her role as surrogate Mumma dingo. She has slowly deteriorated over the last few months with a congenital hip disorder.
Elsa is only 6 and half years old and is crippled with pain, she has very limited to no movement in her hind legs. Elsa has severe congenital hip dysplasia . The worst that Murdoch University Animal Hospital have ever seen in a dingo of her age.
The surgery that Elsa needs can’t be done in our home town. Living in the remote outback of WA we will need to travel for Elsa to have surgery.
Elsa is booked in to have Femoral Head Ostectomy surgery on Friday 4th December 2020. She will need intense physiotherapy for 6 months post surgery.
Elsa is on 3 different strong painkillers, she still suffers in severe pain. Her only option now is surgery that will give her pain free movement and regain the use of her hind legs.
Desert Dingo Rescue have had a busy puppy season this year saving the sick and malnourished orphan pups. Our funds have been exhausted.
DDR thank you for taking the time to read about Elsa and extremely grateful if you can find it in your heart to contribute towards Elsa’s Surgery
Thank you. Elsa means the world and more to us, breaks our heart to watch her like this.
