Leela Needs Surgery

Leela needs a second round of BOTH bladder and dental surgery.  Leela had surgery in 2016 to remove the vast majority of her teeth.  Due to a genetic condition that caused severe discomfort in her mouth and gum infections, her teeth fractured and had to come out, leaving her with just four teeth.  In 2017, Leela started urinating on our furniture as her way of telling us she had bladder stones.  These were calcium oxalate stones, meaning they had to be removed surgically, not through diet.  She recovered well from both surgeries and has been happy and healthy... until now.

As if 2020 didn't have ENOUGH going wrong, Leela re-developed oxalate stones - much to the surprise of John & I and her vet.  She needs another surgery to remove them or else she's gonna keep peeing on our couch.  She also needs her final four teeth removed because her genetic issues have started to eat away at those as well.

We have an estimate from the vet for the surgery and that's the goal amount.  The surgery will happen in the next two weeks or so once we get the green light from the vet.  Had we known this was going to happen, we probably would not have bought a car in the last week.  Any contributions would be greatly appreciated as we deal with this highly unexpected expense.
