ALUMNI SUPPORT TO REBUILD OUR RUN-DOWN OLD SCHOOL:
Buildings at Eyinni High School, Orita-Challenge. Ibadan. Oyo State. Nigeria. require urgent repairs as they are “crumbling around teachers and pupils”. The building has a leaking roof, cracked walls, peeling plaster, and regularly flooded. This is not good for their education and it is not good for their health. Immediate restoration work is required as the school is in such a state of disrepair.
According to the data gathered recently by surveyors that visited the school, several buildings were found to have buildings with “elements”, such as roofs, walls and windows deemed in need of immediate replacement or repair.
The school has deteriorated over the last years and parts of it were becoming dangerous to pupils. The physical condition and building structure are in worst possible condition so in serious risk of imminent failure.
The overstretched school governors are struggling to keep the school buildings safe after government years of funding and budget cuts.
This highlights the effect of failure to invest in a crumbling educational infrastructure. Teachers, staff, and pupils deserves better.
Our alumni are setting the green light for this project. We are pushing for a replacement for the old building and have held consultations over the past year with old students and current school governors.
We want to ensure and determined to look forward to a beautiful new school in which to learn and develop to the high standards we have come to expect from Eyinni High School.
We the alumni are incredibly supportive of this project; we have pushed constantly for this long overdue replacement and finally we have all come together to go ahead.
We want the design of the new building to be of high standard and to produce a place where pupils in classes can learn in comfort and safety whilst creating an attractive addition to the local scene.
The projection cost of rebuild is N8 million Naira (Approx. £15,000) and we hope the programme of work will commence by the end of 2021.
Your generosity will mean the world to us. Our sincere appreciation and gratitude for showing interest and taking your time to read about our course. Thank you.
