Eye need some help

In early August, I experienced an eye emergency. My left retina detached and I experienced hemmoraging in my eye. I underwent surgery on August 13.
Unfortunately, this happened just a month after my daughter's adoption was finalized. I had depleted all of our savings on attorney fees for the adoption.
To make the situation a bit more complicated I haven't been at my job a year yet. I had very limited paid time off and have blown through it quickly. Even though I'm able to go back to work I still have so many follow up appointments scheduled I am looking at many more days off work. Fortunately, I have a very supportive employer.
I hate to ask for help and pride myself on being a strong, independent single mom. But the reality is I just can't do this on my own. I would appreciate any help.
