Extreme Home Makeover - Barb Schauf Edition

Donation protected
Let's surprise Barb with a new look when she returns home sometime in the next 4-6 weeks! As many of you may or may not know, Barb has had several health issues (heart attack, heart surgery, stroke, and toe amputation) over the past year and is once again in a rehab/nursing facility. Barb's daughter, Carrie, allowed us to go through Barb's house with a specialized contractor to identify ways we can make the home easier and safer to live in. We have begun with some small renovations but could use help (time/resources/contacts/finances) to completely "wow" Barb.

One of the largest projects is renovating the bathroom. The estimate we received for this project is just under $20,000. This would include completely gutting the current bathroom and building from the ground up with accessibility and safety in mind. Funds raised above the bathroom renovation costs would be used to install flooring to minimize room transitions/trip hazards, replace the roof on her house to prevent future leaking/structural damage, and potentially install ramps for easier access to the home.

If you know Barb, you have most likely have been impacted by her generosity, laughter and incredible spirit. Now it's our turn to give back to someone who always focuses on how she can give to others!

Please note, all donated funds will be withdrawn by Adam or Becky Stapel (friends of Barb Schauf) and will be deposited into a bank account specifically for Barb's home improvement projects. Funds will be used to pay for materials/labor costs for the home improvement projects described above. We are hoping to have all projects complete by March 30, 2022.
