This fund is for one of our VERY hardworking housekeeping staff who was exposed to bed bugs at the hospital and now has an infestation at home. The bed bugs have further spread to the home of his significant other, forcing them to forfeit two mattresses, box springs, and a couch. Housekeeping employees do not have the privilege of washing their uniform at the hospital putting them at high risk for these types of situations.
Let us get together and soften the financial burden of an exterminator for this very special and hardworking individual. We do have a connection for an exterminator that will give us a discount of $35 dollars/room. The goal of $490 will cover all inflicted rooms of our colleague and his significant other. Donations surpassing the goal will go towards replacing damaged or thrown out items.
Please do not feel obligated to donate! It is absolutely understandable if the moment is not right for you to provide financial support! Please be realistic with your own financial needs. I would like to ask for support in advocating for our ER house keeping staff in getting uniforms washed at work. Although our support and donations are an incredible help, it does not fix the root cause of why this happened in the first place- but this is a good first step! Lets keep our hardworking staff and their families safe from bringing home disease and pests!
