Russell William Sewell, age 62, of Bruno, MN passed away unexpectedly at his home on September 7, 2017.
Russell was born on May 6, 1955 in Bowling Green, OH to his parents Wayne and Alice (Breland) Sewell. Russell was raised and grew up in the Huron, OH area, graduating from the Huron High School in 1973. He went on to college at Ohio State University, transferring to the University of Minnesota-Duluth, then moving on to South Dakota State University where he obtained his Masters of Science degree in Wildlife Biology. Russell worked for several conservation organizations and recently was the owner of Kettle River Marine. Russ was an avid hunter and fisherman. His first love was duck hunting. He enjoyed attending Twins games, music concerts and festivals. His six children were his pride and joy.
Russ is preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Alice, and his brother in law John Gorman. He is survived by his wife, Deborah Sewell of Bruno, MN; his sons, Ryan of Isanti, MN, Tom (Abbi) of Cloquet, MN, Vincent of Bruno, MN, Joe of Bruno, MN; his daughters Sarah (Jesse) Starostka of Lincoln, NE, Nina Sewell of Bismark, ND; sisters, Linda Gorman of Cleveland, OH, Brenda (Jay) Young of Pittsfield Township, MI; four grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, and his former wife, Jill Sewell (Greg McKibbon).
