Greeting Friends and Family!
As some of you may know, in 2015, 1 month after graduating college from Howard University with a BBA in Marketing DEBT-FREE, I decided to use my signing bonus from my full-time job offer to award my very own scholarship award. This award was named The Evelyn Cooke Dream Big Scholarship and was in the amount of $1000.

What less of you may know is why this meant so much to me to do so soon.
While attending Susan E. Wagner High School in Staten Island, I learned early on that my only shot at being able to afford and attend college would be through the power of scholarships. I worked HARD to apply to everything that came my way and one of my biggest awards was from Staten Island ACHIEVE Dollars for Scholars , a program of Scholarship America. (Read the full story HERE )
Fast foward to this year and on my own (and with some support from my holiday Etsy shop - Gingerbread Trimmings ) I have been able to award $4000 total and welcome 5 amazing scholars to my mentoring family under the EC Dream Big Scholarship program. In this family I work hard to provide students with the tips and tools needed to prepare and survive college and follow their dreams!

However, I can no longer do this alone! The need to support minority students, especially in Staten Island is bigger than ever! As a result, I have been blessed to be able to partner with the same organization that helped me get to where I am now!
Now, Staten Island ACHIEVE has offered to MATCH my funds raised for this award up to $5000 every year! What does this mean? That my award that started as just $1000 now has the possibility of muliplying to a whopping $10,000 every year (IF I can raise $5K + GoFundMe's crazy fees on my end)
So family and friends, I need your help! Please, if you can find it in your heart to donate to this passion project of mine, it would be mean EVERYTHING to me. All funds raised will go to this year's chosen scholarship recipients. Help me pay it foward and help us reach our dreams!

Dollar for Scholars program, Staten Island ACHIEVE is a volunteer-run, nonprofit organization that provides financial and career support for deserving Staten Island high school students. Since 2005, Staten Island ACHIEVE has awarded nearly $825,000 to almost 100 students. The organization's scholarships are both need and merit based and are awarded to students in several categories. *Dollars for Scholars®, a program of Scholarship America, is a national network of nearly 1,000 local chapters, driven by local volunteers that help hometown students in 2,850 communities across the country.
