Christopher Galbreath suffered a catastrophic accident on the morning of September 30, 2016. It's only through God's grace he is even alive!

Chris is an Afghanistan Veteran. More specifically, he is a Wounded Vet and he received the Purple Heart for the injuries sustained during his deployment when his Stryker vehicle was blown up by an IED in early 2010. They had a toddler and a newborn baby at the time of that injury. He was part of the Wounded Warrior program and was later medically retired from service. Now, 6 1/2yrs later, he sustains multiple, more traumatic, injuries on "American soil" where you assume things are safer than overseas in a wartime setting. They now have 5 children. Please remember this family in your prayers. They have endured a lot as a family but never more so than now. Thank you for your support.

On Friday, September 30th 2016, Christopher was walking to the bus stop for a normal end of the working week at the Naval Shipyard in Bremerton.  As he got to the street he looked both ways like always then started to cross the street. All of a sudden he heard the sound of tires on the road heading towards him. He thought "well that's quicker than I am". And then he was struck by a vehicle traveling 50MPH

The amazing paramedics saved his life and the doctors continued that fight for the next few days. His right leg was amputated 14 Oct. 2016. He also had massive injuries to his left leg and they were thinking about taking that one too. He kept the left leg and fought hard to get home from the hospital. Then the real work started.

In August of 2017 he was finally able to start therapy to learn how to walk again. the issue wasn't the prosthesis, it was his left leg.

The nerves in that leg are severed and he is unable to operate his ankle.

During his recovery he was told multiple times of a place in Gig Harbor that was right up his alley. The Hanger Clinic in Gig Harbor and the Prosthestist Ryan Blanck LCPO.  see the links below for Ryan's bio and information the device that Chris is trying to get, as well as some other inspiring stories.

Now Chris needs your help. The total for the device and all therapy associated with learning to use it correctly is $9000. and unfortunately the VA will not cover any of the cost for this device that will improve his quality of life greatly.

okay now for a word from Chris.
again here is the EXOSYM INFO.

"I tried the device on and there were vast improvements immediately. It honestly felt like I was walking smoothely for the first time since the accident and that this was the first time while walking I wasn't scared of injuring my left leg."And another pass.... (I could have worn that thing all day).

"Okay now for the hard part. I hate asking for help and money but when it is needed I know that whoever can help will but please don't help if it will put you in a bind. This is not so urgent that it requires people to scramble. It will just help my quality of life greatly.

We all honestly appreciate your aid especially in the form of prayer. I assure you that all moneys collected will be for an Exosym and therapy. and additional funds will be put into an account to pay for future adjustments and repairs. Thank you so much for any help you can provide."
