Exiled Writers Ink Fundraiser

Tax deductible
This year Exiled Writers Ink celebrates its 20th anniversary as an organisation that has supported the work of migrant, exiled, and refugee writers since its foundation. We have worked hard over the past two decades to provide a space for writers from different global backgrounds and experiences to be heard, and we feel that in the wake of Brexit and the rise of xenophobia across the globe, it is more important than ever that our vital work continues in these increasingly divided times.

As you are well aware, since March of this year, the landscape in which arts organisations such as ours operate has drastically changed. With the current Covid-19 crisis, many of the avenues from which we once drew the income that helped make much of work possible have been transformed. We can no longer rely on the draw of live events and workshops and there is no telling when this might change.

We are working hard to make sure that we can continue to operate in this ‘new normal’  but with that comes an increasing need for support. That’s why we are asking for your help.

Your donation will go towards funding writing workshops for migrant and exiled writers from all over the world. It will help us to continue to host events in which we work in partnership with writers and organisations to shed light on injustice and oppression and to give voice to those who would not be heard otherwise. It will help us to ensure that we can continue to create a digital platform for those same writers to be heard and published in our E-Magazine.

You will also help us in continuing our work to bring conflicted groups together to explore individual narratives, culture, memory, fears and experience through discussion, creative writing workshops and performance events such as our most recent project, Towards an Open Land. This project arose in response to rising anti-Muslim and anti-Jewish racism in the UK and enables Muslims and Jews and other persecuted groups to provide insight into the complexity of identity and to resist hostile narratives.

And most importantly, your donation will help us to make certain that we as an organisation are  in solid standing  to meet the challenges of the next 20 years as a charity that continues to encourage cross-cultural dialogue and advocates for human rights through literature and literary activism.

We thank you for your support!
