Exhausted all avenues

Hello. My name is Chris. Back in 1995 I had an unfortunate accident that left me paralyzed but that's not why I'm starting this campaign. After my accident I was fortunate enough to be taken back in by my mom and dad and being that we lived in New York I had many resources to help me with daily living so that I would never be a burden on my family. Fast forward to 2017. Time was getting to rough for us in New York with the high cost of living and we were forced to move and ended up in the great state of Texas. Unfortunately the part of Texas where we live doesn't have the resources that New York has which brings me to open this campaign. See, It is now 2020 and for 25 years my family has cared and done all they could for me so now it's my turn. My mom and dad are in their mid 70's to early 80's and my dad is the only 1 that drives but no one knows how long he has left that he'll be able to do that. Do to my hard work early on I was able to get movement back in my arms which gives me a rare opportunity to be able to drive. We were able to save up enough for the down payment on a wheelchair van but without the resources we can't afford the equipment needed for me to drive. I have tried all the resources that are available to me here but as I was told "there is nothing we can do for you". The company where we purchased then van from (United Access) gave us a rough estimate of $9890.00 for all the equipment needed to drive safely. I owe it to my family to try everything possible to get this done because when the time comes someone is going to have to take them to their medical appointments, therapy appointments and grocery shopping just like my dad has done for me since we moved here. I'm not expecting to fundraise the entire amount but every little bit helps me to be able to take care of my family and will be greatly appreciated.
