This beautiful little soldier Keyani Glassie Mahakitau spread his wings wide this morning and flew home.
Keyani suffered from a mitochondrial disease which saw him through constant hospital visits in & out of PICU as well as round the clock supervision. The symptoms of Leigh's disease took a hold of Keyani just before his 1st birthday. Those that suffer this rare disease don't usually live past 3 years old. Yani put up a tremendous fight to the end.
The purpose of this fund is to help my family with financial stresses that have come during this journey and also the financial stresses that they are currently facing - funeral expenses, family from overseas & everyday expenses from unpaid time off work.
We hope to not only raise funds, but we hope to raise awareness of this rare condition and the effect it has on families especially the children.
