Medical and Funeral Expenses

Kim is the fundraiser at Animal Allies animal shelter in Duluth, MN. She has been working day in and day out for a huge annual fundraising event being held in October 2014. She was working at the shelter on Saturday, September 20 2014 and was asked to help at an adoptathon event going on in a local Petco parking lot. She was loading up some supplies when she collapsed into a seizure. She was taken to the hospital where they found a brain aneurysm which had been leaking. She was flown to St Paul, Minnesota where she had surgery and was put into a medically induced coma. Her brain started swelling and bleeding (which is normal for a person with trauma to the head) at one point and the hospital team had to remove a part of her skull (a craniectomy) to allow for the pressure so the brain didn't compress inside and kill her. 
Kim turned 40 years old and was married for the first time on August 2, 2014. Her husband, Scott, started a new job prior to the marriage and is not able to quit. Kim will be in the hospital for at least 3 months. Her mother, Kathy, has uprooted herself and temporarily moved to St. Paul, Minnesota to support her son-in-law and help him through this sad and world crumbling emergency. Scott will be driving to St. Paul as much as possible and Kathy will be driving to Duluth because her husband will still be here. This fundraiser is to help with gas, housing, meals, toiletries, and any uninsured medical expenses for Scott and Kathy when he is in St. Paul.
