KATHY DUROCHER MEMORIAL FUND

PLEASE HELP SUPPORT MY MOM, KATHY DUROCHER.
My mom has worked as a police/emergency services dispatcher for over 10 years and is currently on medical leave / disability with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
She was diagnosed with Stage IV lung cancer last summer. After going on VSL (Volunteer shared leave) and using her comp. time off mom missing months of work to recover from the surgery and under going the first several rounds of chemo therapy but after being told that the cancer had gone into a form of remission, she returned to work in the winter. Mom worked throughout the spring while going through "maintainence chemo" but after my wedding in March, we found out that the chemo was no longer working and the cancer was not only growing again, but spreading to the abdomine, the spine, and now to her brain.

In August of 2014 Mom was told by doctors she could not go back to work and that she needed to go on with Hospice.  They have given her 1-2 months to live, and we have been fighting hard ever since, but this week (9/19/14) we found out that My mom's 50,000.00 Life Insurance Policy she had through the Highway Patrol had been cancelled.

After digging deeper, making phone calls, and looking over pay stubs we found that while she was out of work on medical leave, the annual renewal period was taking place in the office.  The Benifit department says we were sent a packet with renewel information inside, but we have no record of this, and were still under the assumption that the insurance policy was in place. 

We've been told that there is nothing we can do to restore her insurance, and we are now in a major bind.  From the medical bills to morgage payments we are in a financial bind and are desperately trying to find a solution to our problem.  My mom is a women of great faith and devotion and we both believe that God can and will provide for us during this time of need.

We are continuing to try and figure out how to make this right, but so far we are coming across nothing but deadends.
