Single Mom Needs Rent for 1 Year

Theresa Hit:  This single Mom is no ordinary Mom.  She is a hero.  She adopted her grandsons Damien (10) and Eric (9) two years ago to provide them with a stable, loving and home. Her youngest, Eric, was diagnosed with chronic asthma and severe environmental allergies which has prevented her from securring a full-time job outside of the home.  She has persistently been applying for jobs the past 2 years; however, most employers are not willing to give her the freedom to leave work as necessary to take Eric to his weekly pulmonologist at CHOC for treatment, or allow her to stay home and care for Eric when he suffers an episode that includes pneumonia. Theresa has continually sacrified her time and finances to pour into providing food and shelter for her sons.  My husband and I have observed Theresa putting her sons' needs above her own, yet struggling to provide basic needs without a full-time job and feeling at times as if she has failed.  She has a beautiful soul and after raising her own children as a single Mom and now adopting her grandsons as her own sons, she should never feel as if she has failed.  Damien and Eric are happy boys.  They love God and thank God every day for the sacrifices Theresa makes to care for them. 
After praying and asking God what we could do to help Theresa and her sons, we wanted to help raise one year of rent for Theresa and her sons so she could concentrate on taking care of them and caring for Eric's chronic asthma, severe environmental allergies and pneumonia condition.  As an incentive to our family, friends and those of you anonymously reading this, we decided to step out of our comfort zone and in honor of raising money for this Beautiful Single Mom, we are running in Disney's Avenger's Super Heroes 5K and Half Marathon Weekend November 15-16, 2014.  While your donations encourge my husband and I to push through our knee pain and not pass out (never having run in a race before), please know 100% of your donations will go directly to the property management of the apartment complex Theresa and her sons live in.  Each month of rent is $1,920.  Twelve months of rent = $23,040.  I was a single mom at one time in my life.  I know how difficult life can be when your first desire is is to provide a safe home for your children and struggle just to meet basic needs.  I ask for your prayers in helping God provide for all of Theresa, Damien and Eric's needs and for our goal of 1 year of rent to be reached so Theresa can focus on caring for both of her sons and their needs without the worry of having to find a safe, environmentally healthy place for them to live.
