Uplift Luna Baseball!
Greetings,
My name is Jeffrey Leinenkugel and I am a teacher at Uplift Luna Secondary Prep. Luna is a school that serves an underprivlaged population in a low income part of the city of Dallas.
It has always been a goal of mine to bring the sport of baseball to this school. This year, we have the support of the kids, the faculty and the athletic department. Kids can't stop talking about the prospect of being able to play the game that is called America's Pastime.
What we need from you guys are the funds in order to create the team. This is unprecedented for the schools of Uplift. In fact, we would be the first team ever in the entire Uplift district. Trailblazing, however, has its costs. We need to buy everything from baseballs, bats, gloves and catchers gear to jerseys and hats. Because of our position in the city, and the fact that we do not have our own field, we also need to pay for transportation and rental time on a field.
Our season will be looking to start second semester, with tryouts in early February. The regular season will start in early March and end in early May.
