Rikki - Losing Her Battle

 A year ago I began experiencing symptoms - bloating, vomiting and nausea that had me going back and forth to the doctors being told I had Fibroid tumors. The morning of August 6th I became extremely sick. I felt a horrible pain in my stomach that would not go away. I went to the emergency room near my home in Norwalk.   The next thing I know, I’m being scheduled for an emergency surgery to remove the Fibroid tumors. As the doctor start to perform the surgery, it was discovered I had ovarian cancer.  This was the shock of my life! My head started spinning and quickly filled with questions such as… “How could the Doctors mis-diagnose me?”   I learned that there was one large mass in my stomach, along with ascites fluid that spread to all my other female organs.  This has completely changed my life, after my chemo treatment every week, 4 out of 7 days a week I am sick. This deadly disease has taken complete control of my body.  I am no longer able to work which impacted my ability to pay for my bills.
