<div>Am 18.04.2025 hat sich unser Leben auf schmerzliche Weise für immer verändert – unser geliebter Mann Peter, Vater und Opa ist nach plötzlicher Krankheit verstorben. Wir hatten von der Diagnose bis zu dem tragischen Verlust genau 10 Tage. Was mit Rückenschmerzen begann entpuppte sich als aggressiver schwarzer Hautkrebs im Endstadium, der schnell streute und sich nicht mehr heilen ließ – sein ganzer Körper war voller Metastasen und hatte schon alle Organe angegriffen. Mein Mann ist in der Nacht vom Karfreitag, im Kreise der Familie, viel zu früh und plötzlich von uns gegangen, nachdem versucht wurde seine durch den Krebs angegriffene Wirbelsäule durch eine OP zu stabilisieren. Es drohte eine Lähmung seiner Beine. Nach einer 7 stündigen Operation kämpfte mein Mann auf der Intensivstation ums Überleben. Genau in diesem Moment, als meine Kinder am Flughafen in Dublin standen, bereit zum Abflug zu den Cheerleading Worlds nach Orlando, saß ich bei zwei Ärzten die mir mitteilten, dass mein Mann es höchstwahrscheinlich nicht über die Feiertage schaffen würde. Was ein Traum werden sollte, verwandelte sich schlagartig für meine Kinder in einen Albtraum. Inmitten von Tränen, Panik und völliger Überforderung mussten meine Töchter alles abbrechen und innerhalb kürzester Zeit den Rückflug organisieren – während ihr geliebter Papa zwischen Leben und Tod schwebte. Schlag auf Schlag wurde uns innerhalb von nur wenigen Tagen der Boden unter den Füßen weggerissen.

<div>Charmaine und Charlina konnten sich rechtzeitig verabschieden bevor sein Herz für immer aufhörte zu schlagen .

<div>Wir stehen noch immer unter Schock und versuchen unsere tiefe Trauer zu verarbeiten. Mit ihm ist nicht nur ein wundervoller Mensch gegangen, sondern auch unser größter Halt und Beschützer.

<div>Gemeinsam haben wir ein Haus gekauft – unser Zuhause, unser Lebensmittelpunkt. Hier leben Erinnerungen, hier ist die Zukunft meines Enkels, hier blüht Familie. Doch dieses Zuhause ist in Gefahr. Nun droht uns auch noch der Verlust dieses Hauses. Ich kämpfe mit aller Kraft dafür, dass unsere Familie nicht auch noch ihr Zuhause verliert – unseren Safeplace.

<div>My name is Tanja. I am the mother of two daughters and the proud grandmother of a little grandson.
With a heavy heart, in the midst of deep grief, I’ve made the difficult decision to swallow my pride and ego – because I need to act quickly.

On April 18, 2025, our lives changed forever in a painful way – our beloved husband Peter, father and grandpa, passed away after a sudden illness.
From the diagnosis to the tragic loss, we had exactly 10 days.
What began as back pain turned out to be aggressive stage IV melanoma, which spread rapidly and could no longer be treated. His entire body was full of metastases and the cancer had already attacked all of his organs.

My husband left us far too soon and suddenly, on the night of Good Friday, surrounded by his family – after an attempt to stabilize his spine through surgery, which had been severely affected by the cancer.
Paralysis of his legs was imminent. After a 7-hour surgery, he fought for his life in intensive care.

At that exact moment, while my daughters were standing at the airport in Dublin, ready to fly to the Cheerleading Worlds in Orlando, I was sitting with two doctors who told me that my husband would most likely not survive the holiday weekend.
What was supposed to be a dream turned into a nightmare for my children in an instant.
In tears, panic, and complete overwhelm, they had to cancel everything and organize a return flight within hours – while their beloved father was fighting between life and death.

In just a few days, our whole world collapsed.
Charmaine and Charlina made it home in time to say goodbye before his heart stopped beating forever.

We are still in shock and trying to process our deep grief.
With him, not only did a wonderful person leave us – we also lost our greatest support and protector.

Together we had bought a house – our home, the center of our lives.
This place holds memories, it holds the future of my grandson, it’s where our family blossoms. But now even this home is at risk.
We are now facing the possible loss of our safe haven.

I’m now forced to make the heartbreaking decision to possibly decline my husband’s inheritance – which includes our home – in order to avoid losing everything.
But doing so would also mean the loss of everything we built together – the heart of our family.

So I am asking you from the bottom of my heart:
Please help us save our home.

Every contribution – no matter how small – gives us hope, gives us time, and allows us to breathe so we can make decisions and maybe hold on to a future in this place.

This fundraising campaign is not an easy step for me. It is the most vulnerable thing I have ever done.
But I would do anything for my family – especially to take away their fear of losing their home.
They deserve the space to grieve in peace, without more burden.

This is our last attempt to preserve our family nest, the memories of my husband, and the roots for my children and grandchild.
