Save Jesse Stuart's Shots

My brother Jesse Stuart, a big part of what makes Rockland a fun vibrant city, suffered a catastrophic loss on November 24th, just before Thanksgiving, when of all of his photographic equipment needed for his art and livlihood was stolen.  Police reports have been filed and there is little hope that the cameras are surfacing, or are even in the same state.  He has taken photos for organizations, events and local businesses and his kit took years to aquire. The day before his cameras, stands and releases he was undertaking a project for Rock City Coffee.

Two cases were stolen.  One of the hard top black cases with a stainless rim contained a Canon 7D and a Canon 5D Mark II, as well as several lenses, SD memory cards, a remote shutter release and tripod quick releases.

The day after the burgulary his tripod, which was left behind broke leaving him with nothing to continue working with.  As Kay Stephens from Pen Bay Pilot put it perfecty, " It wasn’t a hobby, it was his livelihood."

This stellar community has stepped up and sourced loaner cameras for him to use in the interim but he needs a new kit to continue making ends meet and to continue to serve the people who love his work .  As you know Jesse built up his reputation by saying yes to anything, and helping take photos for hours at little to no pay and delivering amazing photos of the smallest moment, or biggest bout.  This blow was a tough one to take.

If you know Jesse you know how much this community means to him, every coffee drinker at Rock City, every person on the street, every child in need of a tickle.  We often call him the Mayor of Rockland after the fifth and six time our departure is halted for him to talk to antoher friend or aquaintance.  Let's all come together to get him back on his feet.  We'll all be treated to the results.

This year has been extra hard for the Stuarts.  If we can make this happen for Jesse, it will be a Christmas miracle that will help heal the whole family.

Thank you for helping by donating any amount, by spreading the word, sharing on Facebook or Instagram, and just  spreading the word and spreading the love.
