Hiking the Appalachian Trail

Hey y'all!
As most of you know, on March 1st, 2017 I am going to start my NOBO thru hike of the Appalachian Trail. All 2,180 miles in honor of my father. I am doing the hike to raise money for the National Brain Tumor Society. My goal is to raise $10,000 for them, to help them find a cure for brain cancer. Please be sure to look at my donation page on their website. Unfortunately, a 4 month hike costs a fair amount of money and that's something a poor college student like me doesn't have a lot of. So, I am hoping before my hike to raise $6,000 so that this charity hike can be a reality. If I can get 240 of you wonderful people to donate just $25 I will have the funds I need! About $1500-2000 of the funds will go towards gear, which isn't cheap. About $4000 is going to be needed for food, gear (like shoes when they wear out), laundry, the occional motel for a hot shower, and various other expenses. If hypothetically I raise all $6000 and don't use it all, any excess funds will be donated to the Natonal Brain Tumor Society. I would be so thankful if you could donate even a dollar, anything helps. This will not only be a once in a lifetime trip that will forever change my life, but the opportunity to raise money for brain cancer in honor of my father who has so valiantly fought it, it's truly incomprehensible.
