My name is Peter Kot, and I am the founder and CEO of Evergreen Care Bexley.
Evergreen are supporting over 500 older people in Bexley Borough at present, but due to the lack of resources for charities at the moment, we have had to lay off many of our staff and support.
In this National crisis that our country is facing, it is our elderly community that is going to be the hardest hit.
Many are self-isolating, which adds to the loneliness that numerous already experience on a daily basis.
We provide essential services such as collecting prescriptions and food for older people who are unable to do so themselves. At present, we have had to lay off many of our staff who coordinate services and arrange visits to people's home.
We are fundraising so that we can keep as many our admin staff as possible and launch a telephone befriending service to support our older clients as they go into isolation.
