<div>Sie lebt seit ihrer Geburt mit infantiler Cerebralparese. Dabei handelt es sich in ihrem Fall um eine neurologisch bedingte Bewegungsstörung, die durch Sauerstoffmangel bei der Geburt entstehen kann. Leah kam ganze 9 Wochen zu früh zur Welt, und bei ihrer Geburt verlief nicht alles problemlos.

<div>Leah kann ihre Beine und Arme bewegen, doch sie gehorchen ihr nicht immer so, wie sie es gerne hätte. Mit viel Mühe und der Unterstützung ihrer Mama kann sie einige Schritte gehen. Um jedoch mit gleichaltrigen Freunden mithalten oder längere Strecken zurücklegen zu können, ist sie auf einen Rollstuhl angewiesen.

<div>Leah lebt mit ihrer alleinerziehenden Mutter in einer Mädels-WG. Obwohl ihre Mama arbeitet, reicht das Geld oft nicht aus, um alle Hilfsmittel zu finanzieren, die Leah dabei helfen könnten, sich besser zu bewegen und weiter dazuzulernen. Diese Hilfsmittel sind sehr kostspielig.

<div>Um ihre Entwicklung bestmöglich zu fördern und weiterhin Schritt für Schritt die Welt entdecken zu können, ist Leah auf zusätzliche Unterstützung angewiesen.

<div>Um Leah auf diesem Weg zu unterstützen, werde ich am Schneeberg (Losenheim) am 22.12 8.848 Höhenmeter laufen – die Höhe des Mount Everest. Diese sportliche Herausforderung soll Aufmerksamkeit schaffen und Spenden sammeln, damit Leah weiterhin Fortschritte machen und die Welt Schritt für Schritt entdecken kann.

Even though I can take a few steps with effort and support from my mom, I need a wheelchair to keep up with my friends my age or to cover longer distances. After 2 years, I just needed a new mobile base. And that’s not everything…

<div>My mom, with whom I live in a girls’ shared apartment, says that even though she works, our money is not enough for all the assistive devices that can help me. They are quite expensive. In order to move better and to continue learning more and more, I need additional aids. I’m very happy when kind people support us so that I can continue exploring the world.
