1st African Women's Team to attempt Everest Summit

Martin Luther King was not the only one with a dream.....

A group of four South African Women intend to be the first South African all-women team to summit the world’s highest mountain in 2020.

Why?
To demonstrate that women can. To leave footsteps for other women to follow, and to prove that it’s only a crazy dream until you do it.  A percentage of the sponsorship fee will go towards inspiring, supporting and empowering African women entrepreneurs.

Training is already underway for the April 2020 expedition – including two massive practice climbs (Mont Blanc in the French Alps in September and Aconcagua in the Argentinian Andes in January).

The Give Back
Building up a business is like climbing Mt. Everest!

We’ve all used the phrase “it’s like climbing a mountain” when referring to a life experience which is particularly hard or covered in obstacles.

No-one knows this better than start-ups. Starting a business from scratch required many hours of preparation, endurance, sacrifice while staying focused on the long-term goal of achieving success. Not many start-ups become scalable and there could be many different reasons for this.

As female entrepreneurs, we get it! We have been climbing our business Everests for many years now and therefore understand the pain involved in making a business sustainable.

As mountaineers, we have physically walked these journeys as well.

Our mission is to highlight the plight of the female entrepreneur in Africa, by climbing the world’s highest mountain, Mt. Everest. In doing so, we will show the world the metaphorical journey of building a business from scratch and juxtapose that over the journey of starting, building and scaling a business.

Our hope is to inspire (particularly female) entrepreneurs, relate to their everyday struggles and create a positive narrative around the possibilities/victories which await those who give it their all!
