My champions are living high up in the Khumbu valley of Everest. There we founded the EVEREST Judo Club at Monjo School at an altitude of 2800m.
We are trying to work on building a bigger Dojo and sending a long term coach to instill the Judo philosophy of Jigoro Kano, his ethics and his values. And we want to go even higher up to open a Dojo at the Sir Edmund Hillary Khumjung school at an altitude of nearly 4000m.
To support their inspirational vision of a new thriving future I have collected - by running, climbing and biking up the mountains of Austria - thousands of meters in altitude training during our challenging Covid-19 time.
I`ve already done more than 178.000 meters, that`s 20 times the height of Everest. I do hope my thoughts and spirit will help support our Himalayan kids in this struggling region.
With the help of coach Kazi Sherpa, Dharma and the support of the Nepal Judo Federation we want to provide resources for training and studying to the community.
Everest Judo Club is the first and only professional Judo Club in the entire Himalayan Range of Nepal and it promotes health and discipline for its students. As an Olympian I travel there to the Himalayan Range to train in altitude and in the rugged terrain. I share my wealth of human knowledge with the children of the area.
Due to the rapid rise of Covid-19 isolated regions like these are facing more hardships than ever. With the decline of global tourism many local people will not be able to earn an income. And they don`t have any insurance or support from the government.
Please consider supporting Everest Judo Club and their members during this time of hardship. This money will be given directly to Kazi Sherpa at Everest Judo Club for necessities and for getting new tatamis from Japan to Nepal and up to the Everest region.
We also want to support them with a long term coach.
