Everest Base Camp Trek For Charity

On the 14th October I will be putting on my hiking boots and beginning my ascent to Everest Base Camp. Not only will I be there to explore the beautiful and breathtaking scenery of Nepal but I am also trekking for a cause! The trek is a 12 day journey beginning from Lukla to Everest Base Camp. The Umbrella Foundation has organised this trek to raise funds and awareness for their work.
A little bit about the foundation…
The Umbrella Foundation is a non-profit NGO and registered charity in Ireland, Holland, Hong Kong, UK, USA and Australia working to alleviate the impact of trafficking, poverty and war on children and their families in Nepal. Established in 2005 in response to the growing number of illegal ‘orphanages’ neglecting children’s most basic rights – food, education, safe shelter, healthcare and love – Umbrella Foundation is a family-first, children’s charity which rescues vulnerable children and reintegrates them with their families and rural communities.
Since 2005, Umbrella has rescued and supported over 405 children, reintegrated more than 200, and is still currently supporting over 150 children for their education and livelihood. As this relies solely on donations, this work would not be possible without the valuable support of donors and sponsors around the world.
$1100 will support one youth for an entire year, covering their education costs, which includes all school fees, books, food and accommodation. Please help me raise $1500 to help support at least one youth for an entire year plus a little bit more.
My beautiful and dearest friend Imi has been working in Nepal for The Umbrella Foundation as their Communications & Donor Relations Director for the past year and has been keeping me informed of their important and impactful work. I would be extremely grateful for any contribution towards this cause.
