Everest Base Camp for Akshaya Patra

Hi, I am the social media coordinator for the Akshaya Patra Youth DFW chapter. A team of volunteers is hosting a fundraiser for charity on behalf of a few parents trekking to Everest Base Camp.

Two volunteers - Ravi Narayan and Praveen Saxena - have decided to go on a milestone adventure by trekking 14 days back and forth to Everest Base camp. They have kindly decided to share their stories to raise money for Akshaya Patra. We all hope to raise 1500 dollars per adventurer, which all 100% of the proceeds will go to Akshaya Patra.

Today, Akshaya Patra is the world’s most extensive (not-for-profit run) Mid-Day Meal Programme serving wholesome food every school day to over 2 million children from 19,039 schools across 14 states & 2 Union territories of India. Through our Mid-Day Meal Programme, we attempt to feed the millions of children in India who lack the means but have the zeal to learn and achieve. By providing them one wholesome meal a day, we give them the nourishment and motivation they need to pursue an education for a better future. It is our endeavour to reach out to every child at the grass root level of the society.
