Our laboratory at University College London investigates the relationship between dietary cholesterol intake and autism spectrum disorder (ASD). We are conducting a study involving pupils from autism specialist schools located in regions with traditionally low or high dietary cholesterol intake. This data will be compared with relevant records from the UK Biobank to explore how cholesterol may influence the severity of ASD symptoms in children.

We have been collaborating with ARK Autism & Rehabilitation School in Taiyuan, China, and some of our joint work was recently published (Cell Reports Medicine, 2025). We will be visiting ARK in early August and would like to present gifts to the pupils with ASD at the school.

All donated funds will be used exclusively to purchase these gifts. Receipts for all purchases will be shared with the school, which will confirm receipt and provide us with an official certificate stating the exact amount received.
