Evelyne Metzger's Medical Fund

Three years ago, my wife started feeling ill, so we proceeded to go to the doctor thinking it was something mild. She was diagnosed with acute bronchitis, pumped full of steroids and antibiotics, and was actually getting worse. Then, the doctors thought it was fibromyalgia, so we had several neurologic tests done, including an EMG.  By that point, they still couldn't pinpoint what was going on and my wife was basically bed ridden. One morning at the doctor's office last December, she met a lady who had the same symptons and was diagnosed with Lyme disease. We went ahead and personally consuted a lab company out in California to obtain the serologic tests for this disease. After much waiting and manyout-of-pocket expensives, we found out that Evelyne's results came back positive for Lyme disease. Unfortunately, this diagnosis was very late in the game and Evelyne exhibited late symptoms of Lyme disease, which can linger and be difficult to treat or go away. Since then, it has been quite a battle, physically, emotionally, and financially. We own a small French cafe in Plattsburgh, NY. However, Evelyne has not been able to work, leaving me to run the business on my own. We have had frequent visits to the doctor's, the ER, and specialists to no avail, and I have had to close our business frequently. We have no other income besides our French cafe, and it has been a financial struggle to be able to support my wife's health financially and us. Unfortunately, our health insurance will not cover any care or treatment for Lyme disease, so we have been left to pay for most everything out-of-pocket. My wife's health has been getting worse over the last few months, so we are currently trying to find help from a specialist doctor in Albany, NY. My wife and I have been married for 32 years. She is a wonderful woman of God! We trust that God will continue to help us financially, but we also appreciate any help you can give us! Thank you in advance and may God bless you.
