Evan's NICU Grads

Our son, Evan, spent his first 87 days of life in the NICU at Carilion Children's Hospital. He received the highest level of care possible while he was there. His doctors, nurses, and therapists did not just treat him like a patient; they treated him like he was their very own. By the grace of God, we were able to find so much joy in our NICU stay. But that isn't the case for most families. The mental, physical, and emotional toll a NICU stay takes on a family is really indescribable at times. We want to make it better.
Families get to the end of their stay and finally get to experience the joy and fear in taking their tiny NICU graduates home for the first time. For Evan's first birthday, we wanted to do something to give back and help families find even just a little more joy in that special day. We started making NICU Graduate onesies to give to each baby who gets discharged from Carilion Children's Hospital.
Our Child Life Specialist for the NICU has informed me that they discharge an average of 600-800 babies each year. That's a lot of onesies and a lot of heat transfer vinyl. I have been using my Cricut to cut vinyl and press it onto Carter's brand onesies. We are choosing Carter's because they are great quality, and they are a company that doesn't forget about the tiniest heroes when creating their baby clothing.
On Evan's birthday, we delivered the first batch of onesies. 60 preemie sized and 60 newborn sized. Now we are asking for your help to keep this project going! We need roughly $2500 to be able to purchase the supplies needed for the rest of this year. Every little bit will help!
