This is the revised and correct fundraising page for the Beard Family. Evan is currently overcoming 4th Stage Cancer and underwent surgery on August 6th. Here we are, again. Evan underwent a 9 hour surgery on Monday. Our superhero Doctors resected the cancerous portions of his liver and his colon. They feel confident they got everything and said it was a great surgery. It was intense and the surgeons were aggressive - he will be in recovery for the next two months. He will then finish up a few rounds of chemo. Rarely in life do you get the opportunity to see the real stuff someone is made of - not just what they hope to be, but who they really are. If there is any merit to this mess, it is getting to see Evan demonstrate what we had all hypothesized was already there. Humility, grace, and patience in deep, unreasonable pain. Courage and valor in the face of paralyzing fear. Child-like hope in the midst of unfortunate odds. This is a strength not many get to demonstrate in this life. We are grateful to see it, though most days we wish we didn’t have to utilize it. The Beards are climbing out of this hole one step at a time. Thanks for the prayers, thoughts, words, and shouts of encouragement down into our valley. And a special thanks to those who have climbed down here with us. The Good Shepherd is here. He is leading us out. Love you all.
