Evacuation cars for First Responders in Ukraine.

Donation protected
Ukraine has been at war for over five months. In regions where fighting is taking place, there is a need to evacuate wounded people from areas that ordinary ambulances simply cannot reach. Most paved roads have been torn apart and many are mined. In most cases, the cost of an ambulance not being able to reach a place in time is somebody’s life. In places like this, 4x4 pickup trucks and SUVs come to the rescue. Due to their off-road capabilities, they can reach places that ordinary ambulances cannot. Their flat open truck beds help to operate fast and carry bedridden patients. There is therefore a pressing demand for these types of vehicles in Ukraine right now. Unfortunately, the average lifespan of these vehicles in war-torn Ukraine is short. The conditions in which they are used are harsh and military action is ongoing. These vehicles, just like ordinary ambulances, are also often specifically targeted by invading forces. With this campaign, our nonprofit organization is raising funds to buy and deliver several 4x4 support vehicles to evacuate the wounded from the front line in Ukraine.

We are a grassroots organization united by our effort to purchase and deliver ambulances to Ukrainian hospitals. We also supply medicines, medical devices, and other humanitarian aid. We are originally from different countries all over the globe, most of us live and work in Europe. To make our work transparent and efficient, we registered a nonprofit organization in The Netherlands: Stitching Zeilen van Vrijheid (The Sails of Freedom Foundation). Our foundation does not have salaried employees and keeps administrative costs as low as it can while ensuring its smooth operations

What makes us different is that our organization is in constant contact with Ukrainian hospitals, local officials, and volunteers. We also partner with a number of other humanitarian aid organizations and groups in both Europe and Ukraine. We buy and equip used ambulances across the EU on request from Ukrainian hospitals or local authorities, perform technical inspections, arrange export documents and drive the vehicles to the Ukrainian border, loaded with humanitarian aid on request. From the border, the cars are delivered to the receiving parties by Ukrainian volunteers.

After registering our foundation in late February, we have already delivered four humanitarian convoys with a total of 94 ambulances, 18 support vehicles, and 1 fire truck. We are working now on getting more cars and supplies for the next convoy.
Every donation you make, no matter the size, means that we can help save more lives in war-torn Ukraine.
