Hi!!!! My name is Katarzyna Posnik. I am originally from Poland. I lived in the UK for over 17 years. The generosity and commitment of the Polish people, the shock when I first heard about the Russian invasion, and the intensity of the attacks on innocent people made me set up an unregistered non-profit charity - Sunderland For Ukraine -. Founded for the sole purpose of helping Ukrainian families arriving in Sunderland and surrounding areas and those struggling to escape from the Russian brutality.
So far, a group of volunteers and I have sent 5 minibuses of humanitarian aid to the Polish borders and Kharkiv. We are working closely with ex-British militaries struggling to find funds to continue their mission to save people's lives.
Money from fundraising will be spent on:
- petrol ( to help Lee Lambert get as many people from the war zone as possible)
- vehicles maintenance ( 12 minibuses stationed at Polish borders need occasional repairs)
- food
- accommodation
