Cassie Battles Breast Cancer

Donation protected
Just before the Labor Day weekend, we were all devastated to learn that Cassandra Kiszka was diagnosed with Stage 3 C Breast Cancer. This has come as an utter shock to many of us, as Cassie is a healthy and fit young woman in her early 30's. Women this young are not even screened, as this typically appears at the age of 55 and older. It was by the grace of God that Cassie discovered the lump in her breast while playing with the youngest of her four children, thus beginning this journey.
Due to the aggressive nature of her cancer, she will need to undergo five months of chemotherapy before surgery to remove the lump can begin. Surgery will then be followed up with radiation treatments, creating a very long and difficult road ahead.
A very strong chemotherapy treatment is scheduled to begin this week. This has forced Cassie to step back from her career while she focuses on her health.
Aside from the emotional and physical anguish Cassie and her family are currently experiencing, they now are also going to bear new financial burdens. Medical expenses will mount, and travel expenses will be incurred. Childcare will be difficult to navigate as Cassie goes through chemotherapy while her husband Brian continues supporting their family.
As many of you may know, Cassie and Brian recently relocated from Chicago to Dallas. While they have the support of numerous family and friends back home, their support system in Texas is much smaller. Many of us have the opportunity to lean on our closest loved ones in times of need, but the Kiszka Family might not have those same options due to distance.
Cassie and Brian have always been there for others, offering help and support in any way they possibly could, never expecting anything in return. They are incredible friends to have and wonderful people to know. This diagnosis has rocked them to their core, and they are working so very hard to stay positive and grasp some form of normalcy.
There are moments in our lives when we are uncertain if we could use a shoulder to lean on. This is our moment to erase that doubt and lift up the Kiszka Family. This is our moment to demonstrate the power of community, the power of friendship, and the power of love. This is our moment to give back.
Any form of kindness or compassion toward this truly beautiful woman and her family would be sincerely appreciated.
Thank you.
