Goldie’s Dream
This is Goldie...
Goldie is a beautiful three and half year old, full of cheek and giggles, but unfortunately these giggles are often put on hold due to her suffering from a rare & aggressive form of epilepsy, Lennox Gastaut Syndrome.
Goldie can suffer from up to 100 seizures a day. After countless efforts with numerous medications and seeing no improvement in seizures, Goldie underwent major surgery last year. She had a hemispherectomy where they disconnect half of her brain to try and stop the seizures, not only was the surgery unsuccessful, it has left Goldie with no function on her right side and 50% loss of vision.
Goldie has been such a champion, she never gives up. She is currently trying to walk again with the assistance of her walker. However, this walker, as well as her specialty chair, does not fit through all the doorways in her family home.
Her parents Charlene and Col are just as strong, and even though they may not be able to receive funding, they are going ahead with renovating their home to give their daughter more freedom to move around their home.
Charlene and Col are the most devoted parents to their beautiful children Goldie, and her little brother Rocky. We are fundraising to help assist in paying for Goldie’s medications and treatment, and to assist in funding the renovations that will give Goldie more access and ability to move around her home.
