Help cover funeral costs

Donation protected
My name is Hope and I am raising money to cover funeral costs for a friend who recently passed away from endometrial cancer. I got to know this friend, who we'll call MT, soon after she was diagnosed and I was always humbled by her compassion, perseverance, and love for everyone around her. Even as she struggled through chemotherapy and doctor's appointments, she was more concerned with the friends she met along the way, exchanging books, snacks, and prayers. It seemed like everyone who met MT was transformed, her doctors and caretakers always went out of their way to give her a little extra attention.

MT was a fighter and always optimistic. Even when she tested positive for coronavirus, she was determined to recover. And despite a short hospitalization, she did! We were all rooting for her. But even with her best efforts, MT was put on hospice care in July and returned to live with her sister, whom she loved deeply.

MT, in her humility, expressed that she did not want an obituary; no frills, no funeral... nothing. To honor her wishes, I am not sharing her full name. MT's sister honored MT's only request, to die peacefully at home. This was no easy feat. MT's sister lives on extremely limited income, is disabled, and does not have access to transportation. MT's sister struggled through her own grief, self-doubt, and too many sleepless nights but she was able to honor her sister's last wish. MT peacefully passed away in her home on October 3rd.

This leaves MT's sister with nothing.

In the days following, many generous people came together and were able to get some things donated to give MT a proper burial:
-Casket
-Burial Plot
-Priest/chapel service

However, she still needs to come up with $1,000 for a cement vault, which is required by the cemetery. Additionally, without her sister's social security checks, she is at risk of losing her housing. Any funds over $1,000 will go towards rent and food to keep MT's sister afloat until she can find other living arrangements.

Lastly, I will say, MT's sister struggled with the decision to allow me to set up this fundraiser. She is deeply grateful to everyone's support and prayers. She is a beautiful soul and I cannot adequately express the extent of her love for MT and the sacrifices she made to care for her.

Thank you
