Cindy's Stroke Recovery

On July 16, Jessica’s father, Tony, noticed that his wife was “acting funny.” He called the paramedics thinking perhaps it was hypoglycemia, a life-threatening complication of diabetes.
At the hospital, the skilled medical team of doctors and nurses quickly discovered that Jessica’s mother, Cindy, had actually suffered a stroke in the sleep center of her brain. Thanks to her husband and daughter’s quick thinking and concern, she survived the stroke and has begun the long path to recovery.
What comes next is a long and unpredictable road. It will require an extensive amount of in-hospital rehabilitative therapy and the very real possibility of round the clock, in home supportive care when the time comes for her to leave the hospital.
Jessica and her father are committed to giving their all to ensure she has the best possible chance at a full recovery. Over the course of the last 10 days, they have split their time between their jobs and Cindy’s bedside.
This fund is to alleviate some of the financial pressure of the mounting costs of Cindy’s care and rehabilitation. It is my hope that we, Jessica’s friends and family, can surround her with love and support in a very real and tangible way.
