Amy's cancer battle

Donation protected
Wow.  How do I tell this story.

To start at the beginning.  37 years ago my family welcomed Amy Marie Golden into the world.  She was 2 months premature and weighed only 3 and 1/2 pounds.  She had to have a blood transfusion within a short time of coming into this world.  No one would know for another 17 years that that blood transfusion gave Amy hepatitis C.  She has gone through multiple treatments for that disease with little to no positive results.  With all of that, she was blessed to marry a wonderful man, David Moore, her childhood sweetheart.  They were blessed to welcome their son Connor to their family 13 years ago.

Anyone who knows Amy and Dave knows that they are amazing parents.  Amy has given her all to being a mom.  Because David served our country for nearly 20 years in the Air Force, Amy spent many times being both mom and dad to Connor.

Now the story takes the tragic turn.  On top of the Hep-C, she was recently diagnosed with low-grade chronic B-cell lymphoma/leukemia.  The doctors at the time were not overly concerned because it was only affecting 1 node and the doctors wanted to try a new treatment for the Hep-C first.  That was late this summer/early fall.  Now she has found out that she has stage 4 non-Hodgkin lymphoma, and it is aggressive, she also still has the Hep-C and also now cirrhosis of the liver (due to the Hep-C).  Her prognosis is grim.

This is also just 2 years after Amy and Dave lost their son Morgan just hours after his birth.

The news of this being an aggressive form of cancer is all very sudden and a shock to the whole family.  David will need all of the help he can get through this crisis.  She is the love of his life.  And for Connor, his mom is his everything.  The rest of the family is doing our best under the circumstances.

Please if you could find it in your hearts to help them during this time of need it would be appreciated more than you would ever know.  No young family should have to suffer through so much tragedy.

Thank you for taking the time to read this story.
