In the timespan of only a moment, life for Michael and Carrie Bell has been completly turned upside down. Both having to settle into the most vulnerable situation either has ever faced.
After taking a fall at his home on Friday night, Michael has gone through two surgeries to remove blood clots and to stop his brain from bleeding. Doctors have just removed a paralytic drug he was on, but he remains sedated and on a ventilator until he reaches a level of recovery that will allow his rehabilitation to begin. While doctors work to bring Mike back to just a level of stability, his family and friends are preparing for the months of rehabilitation that lay ahead.
The outpour of love that has been shown to these newlyweds (who shared their forever vows with each other only 6 weeks ago), has confirmed what we already know... the world is a better place because these two are in it.
Mike and Carrie are in a position which nobody could have ever planned for, and they need our help. There is no way of telling right now how long it will take to rehab Mike and return him home with a level of functioning that will allow either of them to return to their professions with any level of normalcy. Carrie works as an ICU nurse, and Michael runs his own construction contracting company.
Over the last few days so many people have shared the self-lessness they have experienced from the hands of Michael and Carrie Bell, and everybody continues to ask how and what they can do to help. This is your answer.
All dontations will be used to:
-pay the medical bills and insurance bills that will begin showing up within the next few weeks
-help with utitility and mortgage payments
-help with accomodating for Mikes transfer to a rehabilitation center once he has reached that level of recovery
-help with any modifications that may be needed on their house once he is released home
-and any other unforseen expenses that may come to surface during the next few months of recovery and discovery
