Oxygen for Caron!

Donation protected
My mom was diagnosed with Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis seven years, ago. (About 10% of those with MS have this type and there are no medications available to stop the progression.) Seven years ago, she could still walk on her own, work full time, and go to the store if she wanted something. She is now able to do none of those things. The disease continues to progress, though. Her fatigue and weakness, along with her inability to walk independently keep her confined to the house except for the few hours she manages to push herself to work a day, where she sits and answers phone calls. Having company or even a conversation on the phone drains the energy from her body in a way others do not understand.
Although there is no medication to help my mom, there is another option for her. It is a therapy that would allow her brain to receive extra oxygen, in order to heal some of the damage that has been done. It would be a life-long therapy. It is called Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy. With this therapy, there is a hope that my mom could walk better; perhaps, not need the wheelchair. She may be able to drive to the store if she wants a snack. There is a chance she will be able to go to Mass (which she loved but is not able to do, now). There is also a chance it would stop the progression and she would get no better nor would she get any worse. In this case, she would keep her ability to at least, work those few hours, and keep some mobility which we would still be grateful for. The therapy requires a chamber to lie in while oxygen and pressure fill it. It also requires an oxygen concentrator, a mattress, and a frame. Without the help of generous people who may be moved to donate (any amount from $1.00-whatever you decide is appropriate),

The research I have done, books I have read, and personal stories I have heard, convince me that this is a hopeful treatment for my mom. In, The New England Journal of Medicine, there is an article about a placebo-controlled, double blind sighted study on this treatment. (Meaning some of the MS patients in the experiment recieve the treatment and others recieve a "fake" version but neither the doctors nor the patients know who is getting what.) The results are clear evidence of why over 10,000 patients with MS now use HBOT regularly in the UK...70% of patients (receiving actual treatment) significantly improved. After 1 year of treatment, only 12% had deteriorated in health, despite the treatment versus the 55% who had deteriorated without treatment. (http://www.perlhealth.com/perlmutter-hyperberic-center/hyperbaric-chamber-treatments/) Unfortunately, most studies are not specific to my mom's type of MS because it is so rare. So, this study includes different types of MS. But, there is one statistic that I can guarantee. No matter what percent of a chance there is that this will help, there is a 100% chance that she will progressively get worse, unless God decides to heal her, if she does not receive this therapy.

My mom raised 5 children (ages 6yrs-17yrs), after my dad died of a heart attack in front of a classroom of 8th graders. She taught us, by example, how to trust God for what we needed because he would never leave us wanting for anything. And, He never has. She never despairs or complains but, instead, assures us that, "God is in control".

If you are not able to contribute but would like information about this treatment, feel free to message me. The therapy is used for numerous physical and neurological illnesses.
