Baby Ashley Ann's Medical Fund

Donation protected
Dave and Amy Parker of Sandy, Utah welcomed their third child and first daughter, baby Ashley Ann on the afternoon of Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at Jordan Valley Hospital in Sandy, UT. After a perfect pregnancy and a very quick delivery, the Parker family was very anxious to meet their little girl! Big brothers Zachary (5) and Jacob (2) were so excited to meet their new baby sister!

Ashley weighed 6 lbs. 13 oz. and was 18 inches long! She is a beautiful little girl with dark hair and dark eyes, and she loves to hold her hands up to her face. Shortly after her birth, Ashley began having respiratory issues and wasn't getting enough oxygen. Ashley was quickly rushed to the hospital's NICU to address her breathing issues. It wasn't long after that it was decided she needed to be moved to Primary Children's Medical Center to receive the best care in the state of Utah. Ashley was prepped and then life-flighted while her daddy rode in the front seat of the helicopter for the 7 minute ride.

Once they arrived at Primary Children's, Ashley was immediately taken to the most critical section of the NICU where it was later learned that her lungs weren't functioning as they were supposed to. She is also experiencing complications related to her heart and blood.

Amy was able to see her daughter at Primary Children's by Thursday afternoon. Zachary and Jacob haven't been able to meet their sister because of NICU rules, but they love her all the same! Ashley had a very hard day on Thursday but pulled through and is now in stable but critical condition. It is expected that she will be in the NICU for at least a month.

Dave and Amy have a high out-of-pocket maximum with their health insurance. On top of that, they will need extra support for food, gas, and other miscellaneous expenses as they travel to and from Primary Children's over the next month (at least) as they will try to balance their lives with their two sons as well as watching over Ashley in the NICU. The bills are already piling up, and even though they are very gracious and humble people, they could really use our help.

If you find it in your heart to donate, even just a little bit, the Parker family (as well as both of their extended families) would be greatly appreciative. They love each of you and appreciate your thoughts and prayers on little Ashley Ann's behalf. We will continue to update this page with new information and updates on Ashley's condition as they become available. Thank you for reading and again, thank you for prayers!
