Paul Mitchell Barber Kit
In the beginning of April I started at Paul Mitchell School in Costa Mesa. I had everything ready; I moved my work schedule in place, so that I could stay full-time in my current position; I already had the Fafsa completed for the year prior; everything was great, or so I thought... After my second week I was approached by the admissions department and was informed that there was an error in my financial aid. I went back to double check that everything had been completed (It had, at this point, been a year since I filled it out,) only to find that my mother's tax information hadn't been linked. I wasn't sure why it needed to be in the first place; I'm 22 years old and haven't been claimed as a dependent for quite some time now. After trying to link my mother's information I had found what the error was. I had put her as filing as single/divorced when I submitted the fafsa initially. She had, just after me submitting it, gotten married and filled as so. When I resubmitted the fafsa with the corrections I had made I had lost the grant I initially received, which brought my monthly payments from a bearable $150/month to $450/month. This drastic increase in my monthly payment forced me to drop out of school because I couldn't afford it and, because I had been two weeks before the error was caught, I couldn't return the kit to the school—landing me with a $3000 bill.
This is a bill that I cannot currently afford to pay, and only agreed to do so when I had financial aid. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. I look forward to trying again in the spring.
Thank you all so much,
