In Memory of Ethan Ashley Elijah

On Wednesday August 2, 2017 at 36 weeks and 5 days of gestation our sweet baby boy went to be with our Heavenly Father. Our Angel baby, Ethan Ashley Elijah Johnson was delivered on Friday August 4, 2017 @ 6:08 pm, weighing 5lbs and measuring 19 inches long. He was absolutely beautiful and we will forever hold him in our hearts. We don't know why our time with him was so short or why he had to go, but we are thankful to God for the moments we shared with him. Before the loss of our Ethan, we didn't realize that stillbirth was something that still took place today (in current times), or that it happens so frequently, even with all the advances in technology. However, the CDC reports that there are approxmately 24,000 stillborn babies in the US per year

It was in our research that we found out about something called a Cuddle Cot. Cuddle Cot is a device that allows for a deceased baby to stay in the hospital room with their parents longer, so that parents have time to love on and bond with their child. Because the time that parents have with their angel baby is so short, Cuddle Cot gives a little extension of that time, before parents have to say goodbye forever. Unfortunately, the hospital where I delivered Ethan does not have one of these devices and in honor of Ethan, I would like to donate a Cuddle Cot to the hospital in his name. I often think about how much more time (even if just a day or two), we could have spent with him if this device were available. Will you help us to help ease the pain of other families who may possibly experience the same heartbreak we have experienced by donating toward the purchase of a Cuddle Cot? I know I would have been so thankful to have just one more day with my precious baby. Any amount you are willing to donate is greatly apprecaited and thank you for helping us to honor our sweet Ethan and to help someone who may travel the road we are on.
