Ethan and Marty: Germany Dream

Hey everyone. My name is Ethan Herridge and with me is my Quarterback and best mate Marty Edser and we are from Toowoomba in Queensland Australia. We have been given the opportunity to fly half way across the world and "get our feet in the door" to what could very well be a real semi-pro/pro career in Gridiron in Germany.
We were messaged by coach Jamie Dale on the 18th of January 2018 in regards to what we are planning to do with our football. We talked for a few days and on Saturday the 20th of January we had a Skype video chat. The conversation began with us being asked how serious we were and if we would be interested in coming over and playing for 8 months in the 2018 season for Coach Jamies team. We would leave between the19th and 25th of March to being training for our first game on the 29th of April 2018, the catch was, we are in no way able to be payed to play and we would need to find our way over to Germany.
That is where this GoFundMe comes in. We are only 19 and we are not able to raise the money on our own and while our families are doing all they can to help us get to Germany it is still coming along very very slowly. We would be asking for the amount of $10 000 AU initially, split between the two of us 50/50 so that we can cover tickets, getting settled in and the very base fees and if the initial goal is reached we will be setting the goal to the final amount of $20 000 AU. This would mean we are both able to cover all costs for the move and first couple of weeks living costs until we get jobs and pick up some of the language. Any and all money spent will be documented on social media so that you all know exactly where your money is going. The campaign will be ending on the 17th of March 2018.
Here are some of our achievements in our Gridiron careers so far.
Marty’s achievements:
- Club Player of the year 2016.
- Club Offensive Player of the year 2015.
- Captained Queensland to an undefeated national championship in 2017.
Ethan’s achievements:
- Best club Offensive front 2017.
- Selected as offensive Lineman for the Queensland 2017 Nationals Squad in 2016 after rookie year.
- Selected for Australian Outback Selection Squad after rookie year in 2017.
We realise that asking other people to fund our dream is a hard ask on the best of days but, we are at the point now where our dream is so close to becoming reality we will do what it takes make it happen. We only started to playing Gridiron 2(Ethan) - 3(Marty) years ago and in that short time we have accomplished so much. This is a once in a life time opportunity and we are not going to waste it. Any and all funding would get us just that one step, that one dollar closer to the two us two country kids getting to live out a dream that most people will never get.
