A service dog for Emily

Donation protected
My name is Debbie White, and I'm a mother of six in Langley BC, and I'd like to invite you to contribute to the purchase of a service dog for my daughter, Emily. Emily is 24 years old and has cerebral palsy: she is wheelchair bound 24/7 and has minimal use of her hands, and faces many challenges as she navigates her daily life. A service dog would help her with many daily tasks, including opening doors and elevators, turning on lights, and providing much needed safety and companionship. Emily is also a flourishing student at Pacific Life Bible College in Surrey, and a service dog could even help her in her studies by grabbing her textbooks for her or by picking up a dropped pen.

We are fortunate enough to have found Service Dogs Unleashed, a local company that trains service dogs. They are new, so they do not yet have a wait list, and we already have a dog picked out: his name is Huckleberry, and he'll be ready to come home and start training in February. We are asking for $2,500 to pay for the dog, training, and vet expenses. Please consider supporting us; any amount is greatly appreciated, and will contribute to improving Emily's quality of life and degree of independence.
