Battle Against Leukemia
Donation protected
On Monday, November 26th, 2018 my sister took my 2 year old niece to the doctor for what she thought would be a routine appointment. After doing some blood work the doctor entered the room with a concerned look and stated my niece needed to be admitted to the Pediatric ICU immediately, as he suspected she may have leukemia.
After rushing to the hospital, where they ran several additional tests it was confirmed that 2 year old, Mae did in fact have Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.
Mae will have to endure 8 months of what they consider intense chemotherapy treatments, each week, followed by 2 years of monthly maintenance chemotherapy treatments. She will also have to take several medications daily.
As it was explained to us, as a family, we must look at this as a marathon and not a sprint. We appreciate all donations, no matter what size. Please send prayers for our family, for strength and healing.
