Emergency Surgery for Ester

Donation protected
The SEGA Girls School  is a residential secondary school for bright motivated Tanzanian girls who otherwise are unable to attend school due to extreme poverty.

Ester Mzena is a Form I (Grade 9) student from Njombe, Tanzania who has a fast growing tumor which started in her throat and has rapidly grown up behind her eye. She has been diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma , which is a cancer made up of cells that normally develop into skeletal muscles.

Due to its location, doctors have recommend that it would be better and safer for her to receive emergency surgery in India.

The entire cost is about $7,000 including air tickets, passport emergency processing, and surgery. Ester attends SEGA Secondary School because her family does not have the resources to send her to school. Likewise, they do not have the resources to attend to her health situation at this time. Untreated, this disease could be fatal for Ester and devastating for her community.

We need your help to make recovery a possibility for Ester- a young, bright, and motivated girl who is working hard to receive an education despite the odds. Help her beat the odds again.
